Elcon Corporation's History

Elcon Corporation was founded in 1981 with a charter to provide quality contracting services, initially within the electrical construction market. Since that time, Elcon has developed a reputation as a capable and professional contracting organization and its successes in the core electrical business have led to diversification into related construction and engineering fields. Today Elcon serves a varied customer base and the company maintains a strong presence in power distribution and transmission, traditional electrical contracting, and general construction services within the Pacific Northwest.

The majority of Elcon Corporation’s revenues are derived from competitively bid contracting and service opportunities. In order to succeed in this challenging business environment, Elcon has developed a management philosophy that places quality services and customer satisfaction at the forefront. Elcon believes that these priorities lead to operations that are inherently efficient and profitable in the long term. This philosophy has been instilled in one of the most capable management teams to be found in our industry and throughout our organization.

Led by the founding partners, the Elcon management team includes professional, experienced individuals with capabilities and expertise uncommon in their fields. With more than a century of combined industry experience, this team is well equipped to manage even the most complex and challenging projects. Elcon’s project management philosophy is centered around open communication and partnership with our customers, vendors and subcontractors.

Over the years, Elcon Corporation has contributed significantly to public infrastructure in the Pacific Northwest. Involvement in projects such as the METRO Downtown Seattle Transit Project, the Hood Canal Bridge retrofit, South Lake Union Streetcar, SeaTac's Third Runway, Brightwater Treatment Plant,  Central Link Light Rail, University of Washington Health Sciences Building and the Seattle Art Museum, have offered Elcon an opportunity to provide lasting benefit to the region.

Working with the Port of Seattle since the mid 1980’s, Elcon has had significant involvement over the years in various projects at SeaTac International Airport and waterfront projects at Terminals 91, 30, 18, 5 and others. Along with providing a valuable service in the region’s transportation infrastructure, these projects have led to Elcon’s receipt of the Port of Seattle’s "Contractor of the Year" award on three separate occasions.

Continuing this commitment to regional infrastructure, Elcon has had significant involvement in the construction and systems integration of Washington Department of Transportation’s Traffic Management System. This is a regional system for commuter freeway surveillance, control and information which greatly enhances the performance of our region’s present transportation infrastructure. Elcon’s participation in Olympia’s Lott Wastewater Treatment Plant project, the Yakima Wastewater Treatment Facility, and the Everett Water Filtration Plant is representative of the company’s contribution to environmental infrastructure in the Pacific Northwest.
